Police and the family of a 72-year old man who was leaving his nephew’s birthday party , in Chicago , were shocked to hear that he had been fatally shot on his way back to his vehicle.
Police said that Cesar Patino, a resident of Logan Square, was shot by a driver-by while his wife was returning their coats after a party. The shooting occurred around 10 pm on Sunday. His wife found him lying on the ground.
Edison Patino, son of Edison Patino, told the Chicago Sun-Times: “I can’t even understand.” “He was just walking to his car.”
Cesar Patino was a grandfather who was born in Ecuador and had lived for 40 years in Chicago.
Edison Patino stated, “We all loved him.” “He was always available to us if anyone needed a favour.”
