Authorities in Hawaii are responding to an apparent incident involving an aircraft that ended up in Kaneohe Bay.

According to the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, a military aircraft overshot the runway and landed on water in Kaneohe Bay.

According to 1stLt Hailey Hard, Fox News Digital, the incident occurred around 2 pm on Monday. A large military plane landed in Kaneohe Bay after apparently missing the runway.

Lt. Harms said nine people were aboard and they were able make it safely back to shore for medical assessment. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Officials say that the plane was a Boeing P8 Poseidon. It is a surveillance aircraft and a patrol aircraft.
