Authorities said that a woman in blood appeared outside a house in Washington State on the weekend. She claimed she had been held for days in a nearby home, where police found a dead man.
The injured woman, 27, told police that an older man beat her before she fled from a house near Sehmel Drive.
According to the police, she had run into a neighbor’s home with deep cuts on her head.
Residents of the house, Gary Marcello and Robin Marcello told Fox13 Seattle they were asleep when the doorbell woke them.
Gary Marcello said, “I went out and looked outside my driveway. A young lady was walking and then turned and looked back at me with blood all over her facial skin.”
Robin Marcello remembered the “horrific scene”, saying that the girl was bleeding from her ear, and she kept repeating “He’s gonna kill me, He’s gonna kill me.”
The woman who was injured at the scene told officers that she had been picked up by a stranger in King or Thurston counties days before her escape. She also admitted to using drugs.
She was not able to give officers more information prior to being taken to hospital for treatment.
The police went to the house that the woman had described, and they found blood outside on the porch. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department assisted the officers in contacting any residents of the house, but no one answered.
Officers entered the house with a warrant, and found that a male 66 years old had died from a gunshot wound they believed to be self-inflicted. Investigators found evidence of someone trying to start a fire in the house.
The police did not immediately reveal the identity of the woman and the man who died.
The investigation is still ongoing.
