Local news reported that an Ohio girl, 17 years old, accused of killing the 33-year-old mother of her boyfriend with a stone in May, made her first appearance in court on Friday.
Kaitlyn Coones is accused of killing Jonathan Jones’ mother Nicole Jones (53), in her Sylvania Township home, after giving him an ultimatum that he should do it himself. This was revealed by prosecutors for the first on November 17.
According to Cleveland 19, “Kaitlyn told Jonathan they had to do something because his mother was keeping them apart,” Sylvania Township detective Albright stated in his interview with Coones.
Cleveland 19 reported that investigators believe the 17 year old foster child lived in Jonathan’s mother’s home before the murder.

Coones, according to prosecutors, would enter through Jonathan’s bedroom so his mother wouldn’t know that she lived in her home.
Coones gave her boyfriend an hour to kill Nicole herself on the day of her murder. ABC 13 reported that after five hours, Coones gave her boyfriend another hour to kill his mother.

According to ABC 13, prosecutors said that while Jonathan was in living room, Nicole was in refrigerator and the 17-year old allegedly strangled Nicole. He also bludgeoned Nicole in the head using a rock.
Kaitlyn Jones allegedly gave Jonathan Jones five hours on the day Nicole Jones was murdered to kill her mother. ABC 13 reported that after five hours, Coones gave her boyfriend another hour to kill his mother.
The suspects then purchased trash bags and an tarp to wrap Nicole’s corpse. They cleaned the crime scene and traveled to a nearby building where they dumped the victim’s dead body in a garbage can. ABC 13 reported that investigators do not think her body will be found.
Stark County Children’s Services reported Coones as missing in state custody back in April.

Local police identified her son after Nicole’s murder, in May. Soon, the police gathered information that led them to believe that Coones and his wife fled to Mexico.
According to ABC 13, while Nicole Jones was looking into the refrigerator, the 17 year-old allegedly strangled and bludgeoned in the head with the rock, while Jonathan Jones sat in the living area.

The outlet reported that Ann Baronas (Coones’ lawyer) is reportedly arguing Coones as Jonathan’s victims.
