San Francisco lost a Bank of America after a thief allegedly drove through the glass and stole cash from the ATM.

The San Francisco Police Department reports that investigators are looking into the incident at the local branch, where the suspects drove an SUV through the building to gain entry, leaving a trail behind of broken glass.

The police did not say how much money was stolen, but they said the thieves had allegedly targeted the ATM located in the bank’s lobby.

The bank’s front door was boarded up and the glass broken by Wednesday afternoon. Customers were shocked.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, on Jan. 3, suspects drove their SUV into a Bank of America Branch. (KTVU).

“To be honest I thought it could have been water damage.” Becca Maglathlin , who lives in this neighborhood, told KTVU that it’s a sleepy area of San Francisco.

A Bank of America was shattered into pieces after an SUV crashed into it in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond District, on Wednesday morning.

Some people were not surprised by the crime, saying it is part of San Francisco culture.

“There’s a culture, and an attitude where it is okay to commit crime.” Marjan Philhour, a local radio station reporter, said that criminals were emboldened.

What do we have to do now? Give our police officers the right tools to do their job. At the moment, that means technology. “It means automatic license plate readers and drones,” Philhour said.

Authorities have launched a search for suspects that rammed a SUV into a Bank of America branch located in San Francisco, California.

San Francisco is a city that has seen a rise in crime. However, many residents still enjoy living there.

Maglathlin said, “It makes me want to find out how we can assist but it doesn’t really change my mind.”

The police confirmed that there were no arrests made in relation to the incident, and this is still an ongoing investigation.
