After a body was discovered in a forest area in a California park, a former rock musician has been arrested and charged with the murder of his girlfriend.

Theobald “Theo” Lengyel was charged on Tuesday with murder in the first degree for the death of Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann, 61.

Capitola Police confirmed that Lengyel goes by “Mylo” as well. According to , he is a former member of Mr. Bungle and a founding saxophonist.

Herrmann’s last known location was Santa Cruz, California on 3 December. She was a competitor in the canoe-paddling group Outrigger Santa Cruz. According to a Facebook post, the group claimed that she was at practice on 3 December.

Theobald Lengyel, 54, was charged Tuesday, January 2, 2020, with murdering his girlfriend Alice “Alyx”, Kamakaokalani Herrmann, 61.

Hermann’s family reported the missing person on 12 December after she had not been heard from for more than a week.

El Cerrito Police discovered her car outside Lengyel’s house.

Herrmann’s family reported her missing on December 12 after not hearing from her for over a week.

Lengyel was immediately identified by the police as a person of concern in Herrmann’s disappearance. He refused to assist in the investigation.

The Capitola Police Department released a statement in which it said that as the investigation continued, it became apparent that foul play had been involved. This led to Theobald Lengyel being identified as a suspect.

Capitola Police reported that human remains had been found in an area of woods within Tilden Regional Park, in Berkeley. Police said that official identification of the remains will not be complete until DNA confirmation is received from the coroner’s office.

Theobald Lengyel was also known as Mylo stone, and he played saxophone for a rock band from the 1980s called Mr. Bungle. (KTVU)

The police have not revealed the exact cause of death.

Lengyel, a resident of Santa Cruz County, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail without incident.

Fox News Digital reviewed online jail records and found that Lengyel had been held without bail.

Capitola Police Department released a statement saying that Theobald Lengyel was arrested in connection with Alice Kamakaokalani’s tragic murder. “We offer our sincere condolences during this difficult time to the family and friend of Alice Kamakaokalani.”

KTVU reported that Herrmann had a Caltech degree and was a neuroscientist.
