The final Jeffrey Epstein related documents from a 2015 lawsuit between Virginia Giuffre, the accuser and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxiwell revealed that in 2016, in a deposition, the plaintiff accused Bill Richardson of sex-trafficking.

In a prior version of the 223 page filing, unsealed on May 20, 2022, their names were redacted. Jean-Luc Brunel who died in jail in France while awaiting his trial for sex-trafficking charges is accused in the new filings of victimizing her.

Richardson is the former Democratic Governor of New Mexico, and the former Ambassador to the United Nations for President Clinton. He died in September. Minsky, a computer scientist who was at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and died in 2016, was one of the leading figures of his field. Wexner was the former CEO of Victoria’s Secret and founder Limited Brands. The Wexner Foundation didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.

Giuffre said that she was also sex-trafficked by a “well-known prime minister.” The name of the accused was not revealed, but he is a prominent criminal lawyer who has denied all wrongdoing. Dershowitz and Giuffre had sued each other, but then agreed to drop the cases after she said publicly that she “made an error in identifying Mr. Dershowitz.”

The final unsealing contained nearly 1,500 documents, including Sarah Ransome’s “highly confidential”, 2017 deposition, and the depositions Maxwell and Giuffre.

Maxwell denied in a filing that he knew of Jean-Luc Brunel’s alleged sexual activity at Epstein’s residences – despite having appeared in photos with him on the sex trafficking financier’s private plane and island. Brunel died in jail, just like Epstein.

Ransome identified Peter Lambrakis, a possible witness and cocaine supplier in her deposition.

Giuffre’s lawyers initially thought they would be able to release 240 documents that had been redacted or sealed, and identify more than 170 John Doe or Jane Doe who were involved in the case, which was settled in 2017. In 2017, a settlement was reached for about 215 documents.

U.S. district judge Loretta Preska ordered that the names be unsealed by December. This gave people a window of two weeks to appeal against the release.

She hasn’t yet decided whether to reveal the identities of two Does, including a woman who claimed that her life would be at risk if she revealed her identity.

Epstein died in federal custody in 2019. The Justice Department accused the U.S. Bureau of Prisons of neglect for allowing Epstein to commit suicide in federal custody. This deprived “his many victims, some of whom were minors at the time of the alleged crimes of the ability to seek justice via the criminal justice system.”
