A sheriff’s deputy in Arkansas was killed by a gunshot Tuesday. The suspect has been arrested, according to Arkansas State Police. They did not provide any additional information on the incident.
The state police said on Tuesday that they were investigating the shooting at 4:30 pm of a Stone County deputy.
Police said that a news conference would be held later to discuss the shooting.

The police did not name the deputy or suspect or specify where the shooting took place in north Arkansas county.
A Stone County deputy was killed in 2019 when he responded to a domestic welfare inspection in Leslie (about 77 miles north-east of Little Rock).
