Has San Francisco reached its turning point?

A report by The New York Post states thatSan Francisco mayor Lond Breed acknowledged this week that the current approach she has taken to drug and crime does not work. “Compassion kills people,” Breed stated during an event hosted by city leaders.

Aaron Peskin, Breed’s supervisor, took the podium to declare that the city had tolerated “illegal and out of control behavior” for too long.

Peskin stated that “many San Franciscans don’t feel safe.” Peskin said that “brazen drug dealing, and deteriorating conditions on the streets have created a humanitarian crisis.”

After a protester hurled bricks into the crowd, the outdoor event was moved inside because, well, San Francisco.

Breed stated that compassion is a killer. We have to change the situation on the street. “It’s easy to get drugs. They are dying on our watch. We have to do better.”

The Democrat went on to say, “I was raised and born in this city.” “I’m putting my life on the line. I do this job without any fear. San Francisco is known for being so liberal and compassionate. The people are growing up amidst this chaos. What about them, then? What we have done has not worked. Will we collaborate to find solutions? “Or are we going let the same thing happen again and again?

According to NYP,Peskin wrote a letter on Monday to Breed demanding that the city close all drug sales in the open within 90 days.
