ABBOTT ON BOARD – Texas Governor Backs Impeachment of Border Bum Alejandro Mayorkas

Abbott wants Mayorkas to go.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott spoke to Fox News Digital before his Tuesday inauguration to express his support for the efforts of GOP House members to impeach Department of Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

“The facts show that Secretary Mayorkas repeatedly told the public the border was secure and that it is not open,” Abbott stated in an exclusive national interview with Fox News Digital, ahead of Tuesday’s inauguration for his third four-year term as the Lone Star State.

The governor stated that he had testified under oath before the United States Congress to these two statements. “Despite what he says, Secretary Mayorkas has seen the greatest number of illegal immigrants cross the border under his leadership,” he said.

Abbott said that Mayorkas should be tried for impeachment because he lies to Congress and Americans, or because he is incompetent at his job.

Rep. Pat Fallon, a fellow Texas legislator, filed articles of impeachment last week against Mayorkas.

The current crisis at our nation’s southern border began almost two years ago. Abbott has been long critical of the president’s handling of this issue.

Abbott waited for Biden on the El Paso airport tarmac as he made his first border visit since becoming president earlier this month. The governor gave the president a note in which he stated that his visit to Mexico’s southern border today was $20 billion too short and two years late.

Abbott also claimed in his letter that the “chaos at the border” was due to the president failing to enforce federal immigration laws. Texas has spent over $4 billion to secure its 1,254 mile border with Mexico.
