After alleging foul play, Grant Wahl’s brother goes private on Instagram

Eric Wahl, brother of recently deceased soccer journalist Grant Wahl, has gone private on social media after suggesting Grant was murdered. Grant, 48, died Friday.

After speculation that his brother, the American journalist Grant Wahl had been killed, Grant Wahl made it private on Instagram.

A spokesperson for Qatari said that Wahl, 48, died from complications he suffered during Friday’s FIFA World Cup quarterfinal match between Argentina and the Netherlands.

He revealed that the veteran soccer journalist had suffered from bronchitis and had been to the medical clinic twice before his sudden death. An eyewitness claimed that Wahl was just minutes away from his sudden death while laughing with coworkers.

Wahl was previously prevented from entering a stadium wearing a rainbow-colored shirt.

Eric Wahl posted the news about his brother’s passing on Instagram, and also made an emotional appeal for help.

“I am gay. Eric Wahl stated that Eric Wahl was the reason Eric wore the rainbow shirt at the World Cup. “My brother was well. He said he had received death threats. My brother has not died, and I don’t believe that. I believe he was murdered, and I am begging for any assistance.”

Eric Wahl has made his Instagram account private.

Grant Wahl wrote a harsh critique of Qatar’s government, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and indifference to the deaths workers who built the World Cup stadium, just one day before his death.

“The Supreme Committee in Charge of Qatar’s World Cup does not care that a Filipino worker was killed at Saudi Arabia’s training center during the group stage. After falling from a forklift accident, he suffered a fatal head injury (information that was kept secret until it was revealed by Adam Crafton of The Athletic).

The Qatari Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy issued a press release acknowledging Wahl’s passing.

The committee stated that it was cooperating with the U.S. Officials will return Wahl’s body back to the U.S.
