After being pistol-whipped, Georgia restaurant employee shoots dead an intruder and then kills him

A Georgia restaurant employee shot an armed intruder in self-defense after a he was pistol-whipped in the course of an attempted robbery of the restaurant last week.

After being pistol-whipped during an attempted robbery, an employee of a Georgia restaurant shot and killed an intruder in self defense.

According to WMAZ, a report says that an intruder, armed and masked, entered a Georgia American Philly N Wings restaurant and demanded money. The intruder then jumped over the counter and pistol-whipped the worker.

The employee was knocked down and began fighting with the intruder. Police identified Joshua Hickey as the 23-year-old Joshua Hickey. He eventually pulled out his legally-owned pistol and shot at his attacker three more times, striking him twice.

“Basically, a male entered. Later, he was identified as Joshua Hickey. He entered with a mask on and a hood. Sergeant Justin Clark confirmed to WMAZ that he did have a semiautomatic pistol. The restaurant worker was hit and fell to the ground. He was attempting to get up again when he pulled out his legally-owned gun and fired three shots at Mr. Hickey. Mr. Hickey was hit twice and fled on foot.

Officers were able locate Hickey and transported him to the hospital. However, he later died from his injuries.

The employee, who is not being identified, was not injured.

Police warn about the tendency for robbery to rise in December and personal larceny to rise 20% as the end the year draws near.

Clark stated that theft tends to rise around holidays. Clark said that compared to last year’s robbery statistics, this year we are on track to have approximately the same number, which is 70.

The officer advised that people should be vigilant while out shopping or dining during the winter season.

Clark stated, “Be aware and aware of your surroundings. Be aware of people coming into and out. Pay attention to your doors.
