After his wife was found in a garage, her 80-year-old husband is charged with murder.

Phokam Saysourinho, 80, was arrested during a traffic stop after police found his wife dead with apparent stab wounds in their garage in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Authorities announced that an 80-year-old Tennessee man was charged with the murder his wife, after she was found dead in their garage Thursday.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, Phokam Saysourinho was accused of stabbing Thatsaphone Saysourinho’s wife at their home in Swanson Drive, 4700 Block, West Murfreesboro.

Police said that officers responded around 4 p.m. to a call about an “unknown” problem at the house.

Officers arrived at the garage to find Thatsaphone Saysourinho with stab wounds and trauma. At the home, she was declared dead.

By the time officers arrived at the house, Phokam Saysourinho was already running from the scene. Police said that he was later detained during a traffic stop at the Gateway Boulevard area.

FOX17 Nashville neighbors said that the alleged murder in their quiet neighborhood left them “baffled” and “confused.”

The police claimed that the husband of the woman had fled the house before officers arrived. Later, he was arrested at a traffic stop (Murfreesboro Police Department).

“It’s not what we expected. Tyler Dunn, who lived two years next to the Saysourinhos, said that there were no signs that anyone outside would think something like this would happen.

Phokam Saysourinho was convicted of first-degree killing in the murder of his wife.
