After trying to seize Houston man’s car at gunpoint, ‘Bamboozled Carjackers’ end up empty handed

A Texas man is grateful to be unharmed after two teens attempted to carjack him at gunpoint but failed after one of the suspects unknowingly ran off with the keys.

An Texas man speaks out about his experience after a attempted carjacking. Two suspects, one armed, followed him into his garage, tried to steal his car, but ended up empty-handed and “bamboozled”.

“They came up to me with a loaded 9mm pistol with an extended clip and at least 40 bullets,” a Houston homeowner said. spoke out about the January incident in which two men ran up on him after his garage was closed. He claimed that they followed him from a nearby station to his home.

The suspect, believed to be a teenager at the time, demanded that the man surrender the keys to his Jeep. Unbeknownst to him, the backpack was found in the passenger seat.

The keys were not in the backpack so the second suspect took the backpack and ran. He was unable to start the car. At this point, the homeowner began to chase the suspect with his backpack. He then heard gunshots from the second suspect behind him.

“The complainant began to run after the suspect who had his backpack, and heard gunshots from the first suspect who was running behind him,” Houston Police Department posted the incident on YouTube . The gunshots were also heard by the suspect who was carrying the backpack, which caused him to drop it. After the complainant had gotten his backpack and all of his belongings back, he was able to retrieve it from the suspects at 3500 Block W. Holcombe.”

“Usually, when they say give your keys to me, someone gives it to you right away and they’re gone.” They were confused because it didn’t work that way,” explained the Houston homeowner. Both suspects fled the scene and are now at large Houston Police Robbery Division

Police describe the first suspect as a Black male with dark pants and a black hoodie. The second suspect is described to police as a Black male with black pants and a gray hoodie.

The suspects were said to have driven off in a blue Chevy camaro.
