All campuses are experiencing internet outages as the new semester begins at UMich

The University of Michigan's three campuses all reported internet outages Monday, the first day of the school system's autumn semester.

An internet outage on Monday ruined the first day of class at all three University of Michigan campus.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the outage started around 1:45 pm Sunday on the Ann Arbor campus, Dearborn campus, and Flint campus. All online services, including Wolverine Access, Canvas, Google and email, were unavailable. By Monday, access had still not been restored.

The course schedules could still be accessed online and classes went on as scheduled. Officials from the university said that they hoped access would be restored by Monday afternoon. Around 2 p.m., the university’s Information and Technology Department posted a message to X, formerly Twitter . It said that technicians were working round the clock, and some systems had been restored.
