Apple will no longer autocorrect swear words to ‘ducking on iPhone

One of the most notable happenings at Apple’s event for developers on Monday is likely the iPhone maker’s tweak that will keep its autocorrect feature from annoyingly correcting one of the most common expletives to “ducking.”

The iPhone maker’s tweak to its autocorrect feature that prevents it from incorrectly changing “ducking” into one of the most commonly used expletives was likely the most noticeable thing at Apple’s developer event on Monday.

Apple’s chief software officer, Craig Federighi said: “In those moments when you want to type just a ducking phrase, the keyboard can also learn that.”

iPhone autocorrect has always been a bit quirky. It will sometimes take a misspelled text and replace it with what it considers to be a logical alternative, which can change the meaning of an entire phrase or sentence.

This is usually followed by a text that says “damn autocorrect!” or “shout at your device” (the iPhone can’t correct verbal epithets).

The company was also working on an new expensive mixed-reality headset as well as a redesign of their desktop and laptop.

Apple shares reached a new record on Monday. The company’s valuation is just short of $3 trillion. This would be another record. The iPhone’s 280% market share growth over the last five years is a clear indication of its power.

iPhone users can turn off autocorrect on their phone, allowing them to use foul language as much as they like.
