Arizona Gov. Hobbs signs order prohibiting hair discrimination

The Arizona governor is expected to sign an order that will ban discrimination based on hair. Gov. Katie Hobbs will do the ceremonial signing Friday afternoon.

Gov. Katie Hobbs will sign an executive order prohibiting discrimination based upon hair.

Friday afternoon, the governor will perform the ceremonial signing at the Arizona State Capitol Executive Tower.

She will be joined by officials from Arizona-based Black advocacy organizations.

These include representatives of the African American Museum of Southern Arizona and Black Mother’s Forum. They also represent the Phoenix chapter of National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
