Boston man threatens subway passengers with pet rat Jerry: The police

Police say a Boston, Massachusetts man caused a disturbance on the subway after threatening passengers with his unusual pet- Jerry the rat.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), transit police stated that it had arrested a man who threatened fellow subway riders repeatedly with Jerry, his pet rat.

Jeffery Stuart, a 57-year old Bostonian, was taken into custody at Oak Grove Station , Boston, after threatening people using his rat Jerry. Transit police posted a tweet about the arrest.

A prosecutor claimed that Stuart was pushing the rat into the faces of people while shouting at them on Friday during their daily commute via the city’s underground system. Prosecutors said Stuart tried to return to the station after being asked to leave. He allegedly cursed at officers, pulled out a rat, and threatened officers.

MBTA described Stuart to be a subway rider “well-known” for causing disruptions. Transit police also found that the man was also consuming alcohol and acting disorderly.

Fox News Digital was informed by the Malden District Court clerk that Stuart faces charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing and threats to commit crime. Police said that Jerry the rat was handed over to animal control.
