California man killed after calling cops “pigs” and charging them with steel bars

Oxnard Police Department bodycams show Adam Barcenas charging at a police officer with a steel bar saying "I hate you" and calling them "pigs" before he was shot and killed.

After calling police officers “pigs”, and running at them with a steel barre, a California man was gunned down and murdered Sunday.

A bodycam video allegedly shows Adam Barcenas (60), charging towards officers in Oxnard California, with a five-foot steel beam Sunday morning at 6 a.m.

Officers from Oxnard were conducting a DUI investigation, when Barcenas, who wasn’t involved, confronted them.

Barcenas is heard calling officers “pigs” in the video and shouting “I hate you!”

Barcenas refused to move towards the officer, who fired four shots.

“Barcenas ignored officers’ commands, and continued to move towards the officers aggressively and threateningly,” said the Oxnard Police Department in a press release.

Barcenas was hit with three of the bullets. Barcena was not harmed by the taser fired by another officer.

Officers asked Barcenas for his resignation, but he moved towards an officer, who fired four shots

Barcenas died shortly after being taken to Ventura County Medical Center. During the confrontation, no officers were hurt.

According to department protocol, the officers involved in shooting were placed on paid administrative leaves.

In a statement, Oxnard Police Chief Jason Benites stated that three investigations are initiated whenever there is an officer-involved incident or if the officers are involved in a fatal accident.

Barcenas, a police officer, was shot and taken to Ventura County Medical Center. He later died.
