CNN projections show Sarah Huckabee Sanders (ex-press secretary and communications director for President Donald Trump) has won her race to become Arkansas’ governor. She is the first female governor elected.

CNN projects that Sarah Huckabee Sanders will win Arkansas’ governorship race as the former press secretary and communications director of President Donald Trump.
Huckabee Sanders is the daughter of an Arkansas governor. Mike Huckabee defeated Chris Jones, a Democrat and former leader of non-profits who has a degree from MIT in nuclear engineering.
Arkansas elected its last Democratic governor in 2010. It is now a heavily red state.
