Two-year-old Florida boy was reported missing by his mother after she found her body in her apartment. His father was arrested Friday and charged with murder.
Taylen’s body was found in the mouth of an alligator, and a detective shot it to death, said Police Chief Anthony Holloway.
Holloway stated that he didn’t want to find him in this manner, but that at least it will bring closure to the family.
Police have stated that Taylen was missing since Thursday when his mother Pashun Jeffery (20) was found dead in her apartment.
Holloway stated Friday that she had been repeatedly stabbed.
According to the chief of police, Thomas Mosley is facing two counts for first-degree murder.
Holloway stated that the child was found close to Dell Holmes Park, near Lake Maggiore. Holloway also said that the child was almost 10 miles away from his mother’s apartment.
Jeffery was seen by family members Wednesday with her child. On Thursday, the family asked an apartment manager for verification that Jeffery wasn’t there. Police have confirmed this.
Holloway stated that the medical examiner will determine the cause of death for the boy.
Holloway stated that Thomas Mosley was admitted to a hospital with cuts on his arms, hands and legs. He was still in hospital Friday. According to Holloway, he did not speak with detectives and asked for a lawyer.
On Friday night, no online case information was available. It wasn’t clear if Mosley had an agent who could speak for him.
The search included dogs, drones, federal and state law enforcement agencies, as well as dogs. He was also issued an Amber Alert.
