Florida confirms that it has arranged recent flights for migrants to California

A Florida official on Tuesday confirmed that the state helped arrange for migrants to fly to Sacramento over the last week following days of accusations from California leaders.

After days of allegations from Californian leaders, a Florida official confirmed on Tuesday that the state assisted in arranging for migrants who flew to Sacramento (California) over the past week.

A spokesperson from Florida’s Division of Emergency Management responded to California attorney general Rob Bonta’s claim, that Florida is most likely responsible for the two flights with migrants who landed in Sacramento. The state capital.

The statement stated that “as you can see in this video, Florida’s voluntary relocation is exactly that — voluntary.” A contractor was also present to ensure that the migrants reached a nongovernmental organization safely.

Later, the spokesperson added that migrants had been flown in from Texas.

In a separate statement, the state agency addressed Bonta’s comment by saying that “state-sanctioned child abduction is not an option for public policy; it is immoral.

The relocation of illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities is nothing new. “But suddenly, when Florida sent illegal aliens into a sanctuary city it was false imprisonment and kidnapping,” said the agency.

Bonta’s office didn’t immediately respond to an inquiry for comment.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (a Democrat) responded to the migrant flight on Twitter by disparaging DeSantis, and linking to state laws on kidnapping.

“. @RonDeSantis, you little, pathetic guy. This isn’t Martha’s Vineyard. Kidnapping Charges?” He tweeted on Monday.

Florida’s governor, Gov. Ron DeSantis who announced his candidacy for the GOP presidency in 2024, recently flew 50 immigrants , the majority of whom were Venezuelans, without notice from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard.

Bonta announced Monday that he is investigating whether the migrants who were flown without prior arrangement to Sacramento as part of Florida’s “scheme”. He said that the investigation may lead to “civil or felony actions” against the state or its officials or employees, or the private vendors hired by the Florida state.
