Florida Uber driver shoots passenger after getting attacked over drop off location: Report
A Florida Uber driver was involved in a shooting on Wednesday night after a passenger attacked the driver before being shot.

According to reports, a Hollywood, Florida, Uber driver was attacked by a passenger on Wednesday night over dropping off location.

WPLG, a news station in Pembroke Park (Florida), reported that the incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Drive & North Park Road.

WPLG reached out to Deanna Bettineschi from Hollywood Police Department public info officer, who stated that the driver and passenger argued over the drop-off location. The driver was then attacked.

Fox News asked Bettineschi for additional information but she did not respond immediately.

The victim was shot during the attack and fled to a nearby gated community.

Bettineschi stated that the driver drove only a short distance and then pulled over to call the police, WPLG reported.

Police arrived and provided lifesaving first aid until the arrival of emergency personnel.

WPLG was told by investigators that the victim was taken to a local hospital, but his condition is unknown.

WPLG reported that the Uber driver suffered facial injuries, but was not admitted to hospital. He cooperated with authorities and remained on the scene.
