Tropical Storm Nicole is still on track to become a hurricane on Wednesday before making landfall across Florida. The system will bring storm surge and heavy rain.

Nicole is still on course to become a hurricane. It will make landfall in east-central Florida Wednesday night and cause widespread damage. Then, it will crawl up the East Coast the rest of this week.

As the system moves inland, heavy rain, strong winds and storm surge will all be possible.

On Wednesday and Thursday, a major winter storm will rage over the northern Plains. It will bring snowfall to the area.
