Florida’s example is an inspiration

The Democratic Party and its media apologists are very concerned about election integrity efforts. These efforts accomplish their goal well: blocking electoral fraud and ballot-harvesting initiatives increase the chances of Republican victories.

Florida’s Republicans won the election last week with a stunning victory. This included turning red traditional liberal stronghold Miami–Dade County. It is worth looking at the 47-page election integrity bill , which Governor Ron Desantis signed into legislation last May. Florida is the example of Republican electoral success in the future. It ensures free and fair elections that the American people can trust. This is something the left knows and will use every tool at its disposal to fight for such initiatives.

Florida Senate Bill 90 passed with the intent to ensure election integrity throughout the state. The bill strengthened voter ID laws by requiring additional identification when voters update their information or request a ballot-by-mail. It also prohibited the practice of mailing ballots to entire voter rolls, regardless of whether they were requested. Precincts can only send ballots directly if they have been requested by the voter.

This is Arizona’s Senate bill 1485, another effort to ensure election integrity. The bill simply removed “infrequent” voters off the state’s Permanent Early Voting List. This means that a large number of ballots will still be automatically sent to voters. Democrats like Katie Hobbs (then-Secretary to State) and Katie Hobbs (now-Governor-elect) refer to this refusal of mass mail-in ballots without carefully observing the voter rolls, as “restrictive.”

This should be enough to remind us of the importance and significance of Florida’s election law. Florida prohibits ballot harvesting. This is another absurd practice. The law also prohibits individuals to handle more than two ballots from persons outside their immediate families, with the exception of supervised voting in assisted living facilities or nursing homes.

Elections in the United States are made more difficult by masked people who show up at drop boxes at night to deposit tens of thousands of ballots. This is another important feature in Florida’s law. It prohibits 24/7 drop boxes. Drop boxes can only be used for early voting during regular in-person hours. The only drop boxes that are available on Election Day are at Supervisors’ Offices. This means they must be supervised in person by an election official during regular voting hours.

Florida law requires that all early voting ballots must be counted no later than 7 p.m. on the day before Election Day. Results must also be posted within 30 minutes of polls closing. It also stipulates that mail ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day. All of these features combined helped ensure that all ballots arrived within the specified timeframe and that the election results were known at the end.

Florida’s left-leaning investigative journalism group “Center for Public Integrity” has criticized Florida for trying to restrict “voter access.” They report that nearly 190,000 Florida voters would live half a mile farther from drop boxes than in 2020. In the past legislative session, both the Arizona GOP and Pennsylvania GOP proposed legislation to ban drop boxes completely. However, unlike Florida, neither bill was actually signed into law.

Florida’s election law allows transparency in verification and counting processes. Every political party and candidate has the right to see signature-matching reviews conducted by the canvassing Board. They also have the ability to appoint observers on their behalf.

It is not surprising that the leftist reaction has been to these reasonable measures with accusations of racism, bigotry and even transphobia. An effort to restore trust in American elections is equated with Jim Crow-era voter suppression. CNN published a conniption on DeSantis’s “restrictive voter bill.” CBS kept its headline brief and called the bill “controversial” but included statements from Charlie Crist, The League of Women Voters of Florida and The Society for Professional Journalists of Florida. NBC reported Arizona’s attempts to clean up its voter rolls were inspired by Trump’s “stolen electoral lie.”

In 2020, the entire American electoral system was completely reformed. This radical overhaul has resulted in a one-sided shift to the Democratic Party’s favor. A stroke victim with mental impairment was elected to the Senate. He won in Pennsylvania’s largest metropolitan area, with a percent advantage that is reminiscent of a Mugabe presidency election in Zimbabwe.

The Democratic Party machine has allowed them to canvass in a way that maximizes their chances of obtaining the most votes from those who otherwise would not vote. Fetterman may have received more than 93% of Philadelphia’s votes. Biden may have won Pennsylvania with a greater percentage of votes than Fetterman. It is difficult to separate those results from the radical changes made to the electoral system in 2020.

In most major U.S. cities, you can’t walk on the streets after 10 p.m. Gas costs half a day and milk $6 per gallon. The president is a senile, octogenarian. The Republicans managed to survive a terrible midterm performance as an out-of power party. Following Florida’s lead in free and fair elections is our only hope of salvaging the Constitutional system that the Founders envisioned.
