In a message that was posted on his Instagram account, the family of Sider shared news of his passing.

The statement said: “It’s with a heavy heart that I share the tragic news about Joshua’s untimely passing.” As all those who knew him will attest, Joshua was a bright light in a world that is becoming increasingly dark. His fearless spirit and voice helped thousands in their darkest times feel a little bit less alone.

The statement went on to say that “although our sadness at Joshua’s death is beyond words, we take comfort in the knowledge that he has finally found peace.” We hope and pray his spirit will continue to live in the words and pictures on this page. For now, we’ll leave it up. We would like to ask for privacy while we do this.

In 2015, Seiter competed in Kaitlyn’s “The Bachelorette”. He was eliminated after the first week.

The family of Seiter did not reveal the cause of his death.
