Gabby Petito’s parents have added Steven Bertolino as an attorney to the lawsuit against Brian Laundrie and his family

The parents of Gabby Petito added attorney Steven Bertolino to a civil lawsuit against Brian Laundrie's parents on Tuesday, alleging that he also knew Brian killed Gabby.

FIRST ON FOX Gabby Petito’s parents added Steven Bertolino as an attorney to a civil suit against Brian Laundrie’s parents. Bertolino alleged that it was “insensitive”, cold-hearted, and outrageous for Bertolino express the Laundrie family’s “hope” to find Gabby’s remains in September 2021.

Gabby’s parents Joseph Petito, Nichole Schmidt and Roberta Laundrie filed the lawsuit against them earlier this year. They claimed that they knew that Gabby had been murdered by their son and were aware of where her remains were located, but refused to speak.

“When they chose to speak, it was through statements made by Steven Bertolino. This included a statement of September 14, 2021, in which Steven Bertolino stated that it was the hope of the Laundrie families ‘that Miss Petito’s search is successful and that Miss Petito can be reunited with her family.'” Gabby’s parents released a statement Tuesday.

“It is believed the Laundries, Steven Bertolino, and Gabby Petito knew at the time of the September 14, 2021 statement. Accordingly, the statement was insensitive and cold-hearted.

Bertolino did no immediate respond to a Tuesday request for comment.
