Georgia Police Officer Charged with Sexual Assault and Child Rape

Georgia police officer Patrick Benjamin Ventura was charged with two counts of child molestation and sexual battery against a child, Gwinnett County Police Department said.

Patrick Benjamin Ventura is accused of two counts child molestation, and one count violation of the oath. He is also accused of one count of sexual assault against a minor under 16.

Ventura graduated from the Gwinnett County Police Academy in spring 2021. He joined the Gwinnett County Police Department on October 1, 2020. Authorities claim that the investigation started when the suspect’s supervisor became suspicious about his patrol activities.

A supervisor began an investigation into some inconsistencies with the patrol activities of Ofc. Gwinnett County Police Department released a statement about Patrick Ventura (North Precinct). “During the investigation, Special Victims Unit was involved because the allegations concerned a teenager girl under 16 years old.”

Patrick Benjamin Ventura (Gwinnett County Police Department), 28, has been charged with two counts child molestation, and one count sexual battery.

The suspect was given a termination letter. According to Georgia law, the police did not disclose any specific details of the incident.
