Georgia woman arrested for pretending to be GBI official

A Georgia woman who had been knocking on doors purporting to be with a state law enforcement agency has been arrested for impersonating an official.

According to police, a Georgia woman knocked on doors pretending to be with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was arrested for impersonating a official.

According to Cobb County Jail records, Tracy Lynn Allen, 54 was taken into custody Thursday.

FOX 5 Atlanta reports that Allen started knocking on doors in Cobb County on March 10. One Ring doorbell camera captured Allen, who claimed she was with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. During the late-night encounter, she was also heard asking for someone who didn’t live at the house.

Tracy Lynn Allen (54), was arrested for impersonating a official.

She was heard saying, “Tell Tracy Allen with GBI that they are looking for them”, through the doorbell camera.

According to the family, they noticed a gun holster hidden in her waistband.

Cobb County Police Sergeant. Wayne Delk, a Cobb County Police Sgt., stated to FOX 5 Atlanta that all police officers, including those working undercover, must have some type of identification.

Dallas Police stated that they had also warned other law enforcement agencies within the region after receiving information from Allen about a threat posted on social media regarding some Cobb County agencies.

It is not clear what Allen did to pretend to be with GBI.

Allen was arrested at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center for felony impersonating an employee or public official. Her bond was approximately $3,000.
