GOING AFTER ALVIN – Oversight, Admin Committees Give Bragg until Thursday to Come Forward

According to a Breitbart exclusive, House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer are giving Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg until Thursday to come forward to appear before three congressional panels for a transcribed interview.

A Breitbartexclusive states that Bryan Steil, House Administration Committee Chair, and James Comer, House Oversight Committee Chairman, have given Alvin Bragg until Thursday to present before three congressional panels to conduct a transcript interview.

From Breitbart News:

Steil is the chair of one of three congressional committees. The other two are the House Judiciary Committee headed by Rep. Jim Jordan (R.OH) and the House Oversight Committee headed by Rep. James Comer. Bragg was required to appear before congressional investigators for a transcribed interview. This interview would have allowed him to explain his reasoning in the looming indictment against former President Donald Trump. Steil was present at the House GOP retreat this week and gave an exclusive interview to Breitbart News. This allowed him to outline the details of the growing investigation into Bragg.

Breitbart News’ Steil stated that the Committee on House Administration is responsible for federal election law. So, we are working with Chairman Comer as well as Chairman Jordan. The question is, “Is this a political move?” If you consider that the previous prosecutors reviewed this case and decided not to prosecute it, and that he had made a prior decision he was not going to move forward, then what has changed? Only thing that has changed is the announcement by President Trump that he will be running for reelection. I believe that the American people are concerned about the politicization in our judicial system. As you examine this case, there are clear questions I think must be answered about whether federal funds intended to reduce crime are being misused for political ends.

Congress has a big question for Bragg: Has he used federal tax money provided by his office to fight crime to politically target Trump? This is something Congress leaders would consider to be an abuse of the purpose.
