GREG GOES BIG: Gutfeld! Visits 2 . 5 Million Visitors, Biggest Night in Show’s History

Gutfeld just celebrated its biggest night!

Fox News Channel’s Gutfeld delivered a total audience audience of 2.5 Million viewers on Tuesday night — the largest audience in Fox News Channel’s history, and the largest audience for any late-night cable program.

From Forbes:

Gutfeld topped all cable shows with 2.494 million viewers and 396,000 viewers within the key demographic of adults 25-54. With 2.1 million viewers, CBS’ The Late Show With Stephen Colbert came in second. This was followed by NBC’s The Tonight Show (1289,000 viewers and 318,000 viewers in this demo) and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live (1287,000 viewers total and 1.285 million viewers in the key demographic).

Gutfeld was even more popular than the late-night cable news shows. MSNBC’s The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle came close, with a total audience audience of 953,000 viewers, and 94,000 viewers in key demo. CNN Tonight had just 412,000 viewers, but it did better in the demo than MSNBC’s 101,000 viewers. Comedy Central’s The Daily Show had an audience total of 443,000 viewers, and 182,000 viewers within the key demo.

Forbes Tom O’Connor, executive producer, said that the key to big ratings is the guest.

“Partially, that’s because the audience has connected with some new guests we have introduced to them. But also because they’ve had the opportunity to watch FNC stars let loose for an hour.”

Gutfeld explained to me that viewers become fans when they challenge the common assumptions of the media and connect with their audience in real terms. Gutfeld spoke to me during a 2019 interview. “I believe that’s the key to the success of Fox News Channel…also I am extraordinarily handsome.”
