House Oversight chair asks Hunter Biden’s relatives about $1.3 million in payments

A House chairman alleged that Hunter Biden and at least two relatives were paid $1.3 million from an associate of the president's son who had links to a Chinese energy company.

Thursday’s memo by the Republican chairman of House Oversight Committee claimed that Hunter Biden, at least two of their relatives, were paid $1.3 Million from an associate of President Barack Obama who had connections to a Chinese energy firm.

These payments are believed to have been made after Rob Walker, an associate, was wired $3million in March 2017 by a Chinese energy company that is affiliated with another company that Biden had been doing businesses with. According to Comer, Biden was paid $1.3 million by his uncle James Biden and Hallie Biden. Hallie Biden is the widow of Hunter’s brother Beau Biden.

Comer stated that it was unclear which services were used to get the exorbitant sum of money.

While the Hunter Biden payments and the $3 million figure were reported nearly a year ago Comer’s memorandum highlighted what Comer called “new evidence” from Walker’s bank records. The subpoena resulted in two payments totalling $35,000 to Hallie Biden.

The memo stated that “The Committee is concerned by the information disclosed in these bank records”, including “Why Hallie Biden — publicly reported as a school counselor — was paid money from Walker’s company.”

In a 2019 interview with New Yorker, Hunter Biden admitted that Hallie Biden was romantically involved during that time.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer did not respond immediately to a request to comment. James Biden’s representative declined to comment. Hallie Biden was not able to be reached for comment.

The White House spokeswoman Ian Sams noted that Comer suggested that the Delaware U.S. Attorney investigating tax fraud allegations against Hunter Biden should have Prosecuted Beau Biden in an interview this month. Comer died in 2015.

Sams released a statement saying that after a disgusting attack blaming Beau, the President’s son, Congressman Comer decided to pursue Beau’s widow. Instead of bizarrely attacking President Comer’s family, House Republicans could focus on working with him to achieve important priorities such as lowering healthcare costs and strengthening the health care system.

Comer stated that his committee was “concerned about the national security consequences resulting from President Biden’s family receiving millions from foreign nationals”. He said that they “will continue following the money trail and facts in order to determine if President Biden has been compromised by his family’s business schemes and whether there is a threat to national security.”
