It’s not your companion the FBI

The Durham report vindicates skeptics of our state security apparatus. The post The FBI Is Not Your Friend appeared first on The American Conservative.

Hillary knew. She knew that her campaign had paid for Russian disinformation, including the alleged “pee-tape” allegations, to be washed out through a report written by a former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. She knew that the information she was given was false, but it could help her win the election. Hillary lied about this to the FBI and to the American people. This was her appetite.

The FBI knew. The FBI knew that the Steele dossier contained no information that could be verified, and most of it was untrue. In order to defeat Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election, they deliberately ignored basic investigative and business rules in order to use corrupt information for surveillance of the Trump campaign through the FISA court. The FBI used this information, even after Trump won, to attack the loyalty and viability and President Trump. They also tried to use it via the Robert Mueller inquiry to impeach Trump or indict him.

Kevin Clinesmith was the only person to go to prison for this. He had provided false information to FISA court. The FBI is not going to undergo any changes. Hillary Clinton will not be charged. The deep state was just a hair’s breadth away from bringing down a president they didn’t want, as sure as it is believed that they did in Dallas 63. This time the weapon was words, not bullets.

The final Durham Report was released last week. This report was written in 2019 by John Durham, a former Connecticut U.S. attorney who was selected to investigate the FBI investigation known as “Operation Crossfire Hurricane.” Durham is the only person to provide a comprehensive overview of what became Russiagate and how close our democracy was to being swept away into an utter void at the hands the deep state.

The words have been used so much and in so many different contexts that they have probably lost their original meaning. The FBI attempted to influence the 2016 election, and after failing, they tried to remove Trump from office. The Durham report is a shocking revelation if you believed the “Hunter Biden Letter”–the letter signed by dozens intelligence professionals who called the Biden diaries possible Russian disinformation.

This key paragraph, for instance, is not true.

Source E, a close ethnic Russian associate of Donald TRUMP’s Republican US presidential campaign, revealed in private to a fellow countryman in late July 2016 that they had a well-developed conspiration of cooperation with the Russian leadership. The TRUMP campaign manager Paul MANAFORT used Carter PAGE and other intermediaries to manage this. Both sides were interested in defeating Hillary CLINTON. President PUTIN reportedly feared and hated her.

The FBI did not have any intelligence that Trump or anyone associated with the Trump Campaign was in contact with Russian Intelligence beyond Steele. The FBI, despite the fact that the allegations were uncorroborated, unvetted, and came from a single, unreliable source who had direct political ties with Trump’s opponent – the FBI still used them to justify the first full-spectrum operation of its kind in American history. The FBI omitted from its FISA request that Carter Page, in reality, was not a Russian spy but a CIA source who had been vetted and approved by the Agency. The FBI simply lied and, even after the lie was exposed, it continued to lie in order to maintain the surveillance application before the FISA court.

Durham concluded “that throughout the duration of Crossfire Hurricane facts and circumstances which were inconsistent with the notion that Trump or persons associated with his campaign were in collusive or conspiracy with the Russian government, were ignored or were simply assessed away.”

The message could not be more clear. It is clear that the FBI did not know what they were doing was wrong, but it went ahead because it believed the end, which was to defeat Trump, justified the means. It’s no surprise that this slogan has been used to overthrow democratic elections by U.S. Intelligence agencies overseas. Why not use the same logic to try to force the 2016 election towards Hillary Clinton when the tools from war come home?

We now know that the FBI investigated Igor Danchenko as a Russian snoop until 2011. He also fed disinformation to a Clinton supporter and registered foreign a href=”https://www.theamericanconservative.com/more-questions-about-russiagate/” rel=”noreferrer noopener” target=”_blank”>agent/a> for Russia, Charles Dolan (who was known but Danchenko passed on disinformation to Charles Dolan, a Clinton supporter who was a registered agent in Russia. Dolan had been known to the FBI but not interviewed. According to the Durham Report, “the FBI was prevented from examining whether some or all of Steele’s non-open-source information was Russian disinformation that was either intentionally or unintentionally passed on to Steele.”

Everyone knew. The Durham Report confirms that on August 3, 2016 CIA Director John Brennan briefed President Obama, Vice-President Joe Biden and FBI Director James Comey in an Oval Office Meeting. The Clinton campaign and the FBI did not interfere with the FBI’s efforts to fabricate collusion. The falsehoods were allowed to persist into the Mueller Report. When that document concluded that there was no collusion, it shifted the falsehoods and claimed that Trump had obstructed the investigation, which ended without an indictment.

The Durham report tells us brutally that the FBI “failed to uphold its important mission of strict loyalty to the law”. They “displayed at best a cavalier approach towards accuracy and completion.” The Bureau “disregarded substantial exculpatory evidence that should have encouraged investigative restraint, and re-examination.” There were clear opportunities for them to avoid the mistakes, and to prevent the damage that resulted from their embrace and assessment of seriously flawed data.

The report says that senior FBI personnel showed a lack of analytical rigor when it came to the information they received. It also states that the “important aspects” of the Crossfire Hurricane case were “seriously deficient.”

Russiagate wouldn’t have existed without the FBI. It would be a thinly veiled Clinton campaign scam. The Durham report has one implicit conclusion: be skeptical of the FBI, and keep an eye on accusations of collusion or foreign interference around the 2024 elections. Treason can be a very twisty road.
