The good news is in for Florida’s GOP candidates.
New polling by the University of North Florida shows that Senator Marco Rubio and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are comfortably ahead of Charlie Crist, and Val Demings, their Democrat rivals.
Republican Governor. According to a UNF Public Opinion Research Lab poll, Ron DeSantis has 55% support, while Charlie Crist is 41%.
In a press release, Dr. Michael Binder, PORL faculty Director, stated that “Given DeSantis’ historic fundraising and popularity among Republicans it is not surprising that he leads in this race.” These numbers show that the Florida statewide race is closer to a recount than a blowout.
Concerning the Senate race, 54% indicated that they would vote to elect Sen. Fox News reports that Marco Rubio was preferred by 54% of respondents, while 43% favored Rep. Val Demings.

Fox News Power Rankings rate DeSantis’ race against Crist as “likely Republican”, and Crist’s race for the Florida Senate seat as “leaning Republican.”
Tuesday, November 8th will see the general election.
The margin of error for the survey of 622 likely Florida voters, conducted between Oct. 17-22, has been +/- 4.7 percentage points.
