Los angeles infant shot dead although mother pushed him across the road in stroller

Police in central California say a 9-month-old child is dead after being shot while his mother pushed him down the street and police currently have no suspects.

After his mother was pushing him in a stroller down the street, he was shot and killed.

According to police in Merced California, 9-month-old Darius King Grigsby was hit and killed by a car while being pushed down the street in a stroller. A car that passed him opened fire, WHNS TV reported.

On November 9, police responded to a report of a shooting at 12:36 p.m. They found the boy’s mother and the child inside a McDonald’s. There, they discovered that the child had been shot. According to authorities, he was declared dead on the spot.

Three shots were fired from the vehicle, according to reports.

“Detectives responded on the scene and took control of the investigation,” the Merced Police Department posted to Facebook. It was found that the shooting occurred in Q Street’s 1200 block. Grigsby’s mother was pushing him in a stroller as she walked down the street with her boyfriend. Grigsby was struck by a vehicle that passed him. One of its occupants opened fire on him.

Authorities stated that they continue to search the area for witnesses and surveillance video. The ongoing investigation has not led to the identification of any suspects.
