The Pentagon has officially ended COVID-19 vaccination mandates for the U.S. Military. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin shared this news in a memo Tuesday.
The memo stated that no one will be removed from the Armed Forces if they refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine. “The Military Departments will make any necessary updates to the records of such people in order to correct adverse actions, such as letters of reprimand and denials of such requests.
The memo stated that the Secretaries of Military Departments would cease all ongoing reviews of Service members’ religious, administrative or medical accommodation requests in order to exempt them from the COVID-19 vaccination or appeals against denials.
