Colby Richards was a 31-year old father from Texas who disappeared on May 26 after a morning walk. His coworkers said that he seemed tired in the days before his disappearance.
Richards was up at 5 am on a Friday morning, but he didn’t return to his room to get ready. His wife went to check and saw that the backyard gate was wide open, and that Richards wasn’t in sight.
“I spoke to two of his friends and his supervisor and they said that he appeared tired. He has small children at home. Allison Fox told Fox News Digital that sleep is precious for parents with young children. “That was probably it.”
Fox reported that Richards was employed by an engineering company, and that his coworkers had told his family he appeared to be dozing off at his computer. She told authorities about the incident, and they spoke with Richards’ coworkers.

MCSO spokesperson Scott Spencer said in a Fox News Digital statement that the investigation was ongoing and that “the sheriff’s department is not currently searching for areas where there are no credible reports that Mr. Richards could be in those areas, including areas that have been previously searched by both our agency and Montgomery County Search and Rescue.”
Fox said that Richards usually gets up at 5 or 6 am to go to work. Fox said that Richards had just started working full-time at an engineering company in the area, but he also worked part-time as baseball coach.
