A pedestrian was struck and killed by a U.S. Highway Patrol vehicle in the middle. Police in Hattiesburg reported that Highway 49 was struck by a Mississippi Highway Patrol car early Friday.
Hattiesburg police released a news release saying that the pedestrian was a woman who had been struck on Highway shortly before 3:00 a.m. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
