NC assault charge against German rapper dismissed

A defense attorney says an assault charge against German rapper Marteria has been dismissed. 41-year-old rapper and his accuser were in Charlotte for a basketball game.

On Tuesday, a North Carolina prosecutor dropped an assault charge against German rapper Marteria who was accused by his lawyer of choking a female.

The Charlotte Observer, citing records from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, reported that the singer, whose actual name is Marten Lacini, had been arrested on March 30,. Robert DeCurtins, a defense attorney, told the newspaper that the 41-year old rapper and his Berlin-based accuser were in Charlotte to attend a basketball match.

According to a defense attorney, the assault charges against German rapper Marteria have been dismissed.

The singer was not present at the hearing on Tuesday.

The reason for the charges being dismissed was not clear. DeCurtins explained that prosecutors consider several factors before deciding whether to file charges or dismiss them.

Marteria’s hits, including “Lila Wolken,” have more than 2,000,000 monthly listeners.
