New Jersey beach rescues 5 people including a boy drowning 15 years old

A 15-year-old boy fatally drowned and at least five other people had to be rescued on a New Jersey beach over the weekend, officials said.

Officials said that a 15-year old boy drowned to death and at least five others had to be saved from a New Jerseybeach on the weekend.

On Sunday, just after 4 pm, the incident occurred on Sandy Hook Beach B. Daphne Yun, Gateway National Recreational Public Affairs specialist Daphne Yun told reporters on Monday that the incident occurred at Sandy Hook Beach B just after 4 p.m.

Yun stated that Beach B was an area without guards where swimming was not permitted.

Five people were taken to a medical center, including the teenager, who was declared dead upon arrival. Yun reported that one person refused to go to a hospital for treatment.

As of early Monday, the identity of the teenager who died was still not known.

It is also unclear what the conditions and ages of the four other people who were taken to hospitals are.
