A North Carolina man captured a dramatic video of a freight rail plowing into a semi truck stuck at a railroad crossing.
As the train approached at 5 pm on June 8, the big rig was stuck on the Main Street crossing in Wingate North Carolina.

“Yo, yo, yo!” Jordan can be heard screaming in the video, as the exterior of the truck is ripped to pieces by the fast-moving train.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported that despite the dramatic crash, there were no injuries. The department said that the semi truck driver was able exit his vehicle prior to the crash.
The police said that although the truck was damaged in the accident, it did not contain any hazardous materials when the collision occurred.

The road was closed while crews cleaned up the mess and checked the tracks.
Residents complained in the comments section of the Facebook post by the Union County Sheriff’s Office that this was not the first time a semi-truck got stuck on railroad tracks. In January of this year, two semi-trucks got stuck at the same railroad crossing and were hit within a span of a week.

Residents are now calling on the state and local governments , to fix the tracks and provide clear road signage. Some people are calling on semi-truck drivers from out of state to “stop being laziness” and to follow signs in order to avoid train tracks.
Why isn’t this state repairing these crossings? was the comment of a resident in a Facebook posting. There must be a place in the town where tractor-trailers can cross the track.

When will they fix that problem? Another said, “The tracks need to be lowered in some way.”
