Northern Iowa House Fire: 4 killed, 2 injured

A fire in northern Iowa killed four children and injured two others. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 5 a.m. and could see flames in the first and second floors of the house.

Four children were killed and two others were injured in a house fire early Wednesday in northern Iowa.

Mason City firefighters responded to the call at 5:05 a.m. to a fire in an older house in a neighborhood close the city’s center.

According to the Mason City Fire Department, crews arriving could see flames on the first and second floors.

The victims were identified as John Michael Mcluer (12), Odin Thor Mcluer (10), Drako Mcluer (6), and Phenix Mcluer (3).

Four children were killed and two others were injured in a house fire in northern Iowa.



EVACUATIONS NEBRASKA, WESTERN IOWA CAUSED ABOUT PRAIRIE FIRES

According to the fire department, John Michael Mcluer (55), and Ravan Dawn Mcluer (11), suffered burns and were taken to a hospital.

Although the cause of the fire was not determined, the fire department stated that foul play was not suspected.

Mason City is home to approximately 27,000 residents. It’s located in northern Iowa, 110 mi north of Des Moines.
