NYC garage worker is charged with attempted murder in shooting an armed thief

A New York City parking garage attendant was charged with attempted murder after wrestling a gun away from an alleged thief and shooting the suspect.

After confronting an armed theftist, a New York City parking attendant opened fire on him before being charged with attempted murder.

Moussa, 57, was also charged with assaulting and criminal possession with a weapon in relation to the incident, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

According to police, the attendant noticed a man peering into cars at the West 31st Street garage in Manhattan. Diarra suspects the man was stealing so he brought him outside to question him about his bag.

An attempted murder charge was filed against a New York City parking attendant after he confronted an armed thief.

Diarra tried to grab the gun, but was then pulled by the man. Diarra was then shot with the gun, and received a shot in the stomach. A bullet also grazed his ear.

Diarra turned the gun on the potential thief, and shot him in his chest.

Charles Rhodie (59), was also charged with attempted murder and assault, as well as criminal possession of weapons. Police also said that he faces a burglary accusation.

After Saturday’s parking garage incident, Diarra and Rhodie were taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable conditions.

After a similar incident last summer, Diarra was charged with defending himself against an attack. Jose Alba, a Manhattan bodega clerk was arrested in July for murder following a dispute at the store with an angry customer. He attacked him behind his counter. Alba attacked and killed the attacker in self defense, but was arrested at Rikers Island for murder.

Last year, a bodega clerk was accused of murder in a similar incident. He fatally stabbed his attacker. After public pressure, Alvin Bragg, District Attorney, dropped the charge.
