Officials say Philadelphia has welcomed 28 migrants from Texas who are now planning to travel to other states.

Migrants who arrived in Philadelphia from Texas on Wednesday were greeted by city agencies and nonprofits ready to assist with services

Officials said that a bus with 28 migrants from Texas arrived in Philadelphia Wednesday. It included a 10-year-old girl who was ill. Many of them claimed they would travel to other countries.

According to the city, the migrants were asylum seekers and traveled by bus from Del Rio in Texas, a town near the U.S.-Mexico frontier.

Many of them are from Colombia, Panama, Nicaragua and Ecuador and were screened and screened by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents. Officials stated that five people from two families indicated they intended to stay in the city, while the rest stated that they intend to travel to neighboring countries.

Philadelphia officials heavily criticize Abbott for sending migrants to their city without warning. Kenney accused Abbott Tuesday of using the migrants as political pawns.

Abbott also announced his plans to increase his state’s response against the record-breaking number of illegal immigrants crossing the border. In a letter to president Biden Abbott stated that he had ordered the construction of a wall along multiple counties and the deployment gun boats. He also declared Mexican drug cartels to be foreign terrorist organizations. The Texas National Guard was deployed to repel illegal immigrants crossing the border illegally.

Abbott stated that Texas was forced to secure its border by itself amid a wave human trafficking arrests, and fentanyl smuggling in the United States.

In a letter to the White House, he stated that Texas must make these efforts because President Biden has abdicated his responsibility to enforce immigration laws. He also wrote that Congress had refused to hold him accountable and abandoned its responsibility to use the power granted to it.
