ON SHAKY GROUND: WaPo Warns Bragg, Trump Case ‘Dangerous Leap on the Highest of Wires’

Even The Washington Post has its doubts about DA Alvin Bragg’s case against Donald Trump.

Even The Washington Post isn’t convinced by DA Alvin Bragg’s case against Donald Trump.

A report by Just The News states that Ruth Marcus, Washington Postcolumnist, wants Trump to be found responsible more than anyone else — but is quick to criticize Bragg’s flimsy case.

From Just The News

Marcus wrote in an opinion article Tuesday, “The Trump Indictment is a Dangerous leap on the Highest of Wires.” He said that the indictment was not sealed after Trump’s arraignment earlier that morning. The theory it rests, however, is “disturbingly unilluminating” and “unnervingly fragile at best.”

Marcus stated that she hopes Trump’s case will be won by prosecutors, but she added, “[T]he concerns I had in weeks leading to the indictment regarding the strength of Trump’s case were not in any way diminished by Tuesday’s developments.”

She stated that the indictment and facts of the district attorney in the case “offer almost nothing in terms of new evidence against Trump.”

Both sides of the political spectrum were not impressed by Bragg’s case. They worry that it could backfire and empower Trump and his base as they head into 2024.
