Gun violence was reported in at least eight different states, including at high schools, beaches and motorcycle rallies. The victims were a mix of teenagers and those in their sixties.

NBC Chicago reports that the first gun violence of the holiday weekend occurred on Friday when Telemundo Chicago caught a confrontation on Chicago’s North Avenue Beach between two groups. Gunshots were fired, but there were no injuries.

NBC Chicago reports that despite the fact that no one was injured in Friday’s shooting, over eight people died and more than 32 were injured in Chicago during the long weekend.

NBC News confirmed that an argument between two Baltimore men at 3:30 p.m. on Friday resulted in gunfire which injured five individuals.

Five people were hit, but their identities are unknown. According to Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, the victims suffered non-life-threatening wounds. According to NBC News affiliate WBAL-TV, police are looking for the suspect gunman.

According to a Mesa Police Department release, Iren Byers (20) was taken into custody by police in Mesa, Arizona. He is being held for multiple shootings which occurred between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. According to police, Byers is suspected of killing four people and injuring another. Byers’s attorney was not immediately known.

Brandi George, Mesa Police spokesperson, stated that the injured victim, a woman of 36 years old, is stable and will be undergoing surgery to treat serious injuries.

A press release said that Byers had been booked in jail for four counts of murder first degree and one count of attempted murder first degree. According to the press release, Byers is being held in jail without bail.

Police were called Saturday to the Roxbury Lanes Casino, in Seattle, Washington after reports of shots fired. According to NBC News affiliate KOMO the injury severity was not immediately known. As of Monday morning, police had arrested a suspect .

A suspect has been arrested in Red River, New Mexico after three people died and five were injured at a motorcycle event on Saturday night. The suspect is the one who was allegedly responsible for the shooting. Police identified the deceased as Anthony Silva (26), of Los Lunas, Randy Sanchez (46), of Albuquerque, and Damian Breaux (46) of Socorro on Sunday.

Castillo was identified by police as the suspect shooter, Jacob David Castillo (30), of Rio Rancho. Castillo was hospitalized after being injured. Police said that he will be rebooked into the Taos county detention center upon his release. Castillo was not immediately available for comment.

In Garden Grove, California on Saturday night, a shooting in Hot Restaurant and lounge left three people injured, including two who were seriously hurt. Garden Grove Police Sgt. Nick Jensen, NBC Los Angeles reported that Nick Jensen stated the gunman had a heated argument with another person before opening fire.

Jensen stated that there was an altercation, so the shooter did not just walk in and start shooting.

The patrons held the gunman in place until the police arrived. The suspect was detained initially by the police but it wasn’t immediately clear whether he was arrested and charged. Police have not identified either the suspect or the victims.

Atlanta Public Schools released a statement that stated in the early morning hours of Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia one teen died and another was injured in an incident at “an unauthorized meeting” at Benjamin E. Mays high school.

Around 2:30 am, the police were called to a high school. On Sunday, they found a 16 year old female and 16 year old male who had both been shot. Later, the female teen died of her injuries. The male was taken to a hospital nearby in stable condition.

According to NBC News affiliate WXIA TV, the deceased was identified as Breasia Powell. NBC News did not receive a response from the Fulton County Medical Examiner in a timely manner.

Around 11:45 am on Sunday. A person was killed by a gunshot on a Green Line at the Navy Yard Station in Washington, D.C., Metro Transit Police Tweeted.

In a tweet, transit police stated that “despite lifesaving efforts, the adult male was pronounced dead at the scene.”

According to Assistant Police Chief Andre Wright, the shooter and victim had a fight in the train. Wright stated that the victim had “multiple gunshot injuries” on his upper body.
