Paul Pelosi attack: A grand jury indicts David DePape following an alleged hammer attack

Paul Pelosi's alleged attacker was indicted on Wednesday by a federal grand jury after allegedly violently attacking the House speaker's husband.

On Wednesday, a federal grand jury indicted David DePape (42), after he allegedly broke into Pelosi’s San Francisco home on Oct. 28th and attacked Nancy Pelosi’s husband.

According to court documents, DePape is accused of attacking Paul Pelosi in an alleged break-in at his residence. He claimed that he was “sick” of the “insane f—ing level lies coming out Washington, D.C.” and wanted to take Nancy Pelosi hostage.

Paul Pelosi, who was attacked shortly after 2 AM, was taken to a local hospital for surgery to fix a skull fracture and other injuries.

DePape faces one count each of assault on a family member of an American official in retaliation against him and one count each of attempted kidnapping a U.S. officer in retaliation for his performance of official duties.

DePape could be sentenced to a maximum 30 year term for the assault charge and 20 years for attempted kidnapping.

DePape pleaded guilty to the following state-level charges in court on Nov. 1. These include attempted murder and residential burglary as well as assault with a deadly weapons and elder abuse.

According to the Department of Justice, Paul Pelosi called 911 and police officers arrived within minutes. They “encounter Paul Pelosi & DePape fighting over a hammer,” he said.

According to the indictment, DePape took control of the hammer and used “full force to strike Paul Pelosi” after the officers instructed them to do so.

Paul Pelosi fell unconscious for several minutes, and then he woke up in “a pool of blood,” according to documents.

According to the indictment, DePape claimed that he had a target list that included Nancy Pelosi.

According to officials, DePape wanted Nancy Pelosi to be held hostage and, if she lied to him, he would break “her kneecaps”.

Paul Pelosi was the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and was brutally beaten by an attacker. He broke into their San Francisco house in the early hours of the morning on Friday, October 28th 2022. Paul Pelosi (82) was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained after being beaten with a hammer by an attacker (Fox News).

Paul Pelosi, who has since returned from the hospital, said that it was going to be a long journey.
