Pelosi said Trump appeared like a’scared puppy’ when he arrived for his arraignment

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said former President Donald Trump looked like "a scared puppy" as he arrived at a D.C. courthouse.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described former President Donald Trump as “a scared dog” when he arrived in a D.C. Courthouse to appear for his Arrestment. The charges were related to his efforts to reverse his 2020 election defeat.

Pelosi said that Trump, while appearing on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports Friday, lacked “bravado and confidence,” which she claimed is standard for the persona of the former president.

Pelosi said, “He’s got the face the music now that he knows he lost.” Pelosi represents a California congressional district.

Pelosi called the legal troubles of the former president “really sad” and said that it was proof the party was dangerously attached to Trump.

She said that “they have to change the topic and they have nothing to give the American people as far as jobs and other things are concerned,” adding that the Republican Party “shouldn’t become a cult for someone frivolous who plays with the law and uses his puppets.”

Pelosi and Trump have been at odds for a long time. Pelosi and other Democratic leaders left a meeting at the White House in 2019 after Trump had what Pelosi called a “meltdown.” In 2020, Pelosi famously ripped a copy of Trump’s State of the Union Address.

Tensions between both leaders reached their peak in the days following the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Pelosi told a documentary that, during the attack, she hoped that then-President Trump will come to the Capitol complex to “punch him,” later made public.

However, the lawmaker declined to state if Trump’s trial should be televised .

She said on Friday, “I’d leave it up to the Justice Department.” “I do not give advice.”
