A Pennsylvania 10-year-old boy is speaking out about the terrifying moment he was followed by a stranger as he walked home from school on Friday. He was able to think quickly and get help from a store employee.
Sammy Green said that she was shaking at first. “She was like “I’m going Wawa.” Are you willing to come along with me? Is it possible to go to Wawa with me? What are you getting?
Sammy claims that the woman followed Sammy for a few blocks and was captured on camera right next to him at Dani Bee Funky. Sammy was prompted to go into the store by the woman asking if his family was nearby.
Dani Bee Funky’s employee Hannah Daniels stated that he came in and was panicked. He whispered, “This lady has been following me home from school. Could you please help me? As if you were my mom. “Pretend that you are my mom.”
The encounter was shared on Facebook. Pottstown police claim that they learned about it. Hannah intervened to assist the woman who was interacted with Sammy.
Samuel Green, Sammy’s father, stated that “I was fine up until I saw the footage.” “Then, I saw my son walk over and whisper to Hannah, and I was overcome. It was then that everything happened. It was scary. He handled it so well that I am so proud of him.
Sammy’s father says that he has discussed “stranger danger” with his son a lot and believes it helped him in this situation. He claims that the incident made them feel like they are family, instead of being regular Danibe Funky customers.
Hannah said, “He was so grateful.” He said, “Thank you so much.” He was like, “Thank you so much.” And I was like, “I’m so glad that you were intelligent enough to come here and find safety.”
FOX 29 reported that police recognized the woman from the video immediately. She is homeless, they say. They refer her to mental healthcare issues.
