A small plane crashed Friday into the front yard of a Florida home, narrowly missing the residence, authorities said.

Authorities said that a small plane crash landed in the front yard of a house in a Florida neighborhood on Friday. It narrowly missed hitting a home.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reported that an unidentified aircraft left Spruce Creek airport in Port Orange.

The plane crashed into the yard of a Port Orange home after experiencing engine problems. The pilot attempted to land in a canopy which then flipped over into the yard of a resident, Fox Orlando reported.

Authorities said that two people were “alert, conscious and awake” on the plane. One person was transported to hospital for non-life-threatening injury.

The National Transportation and Safety Board is investigating crash. Fox News Digital reached out to both the Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB.
